In April BYU announced plans to buy the 25-acre Provo High School property for $25 million, provided no concerns arise during geological and other studies to be carried out during the due-diligence process.

BYU has not yet made any long-term plans for the use of the property, but will lease the property back to Provo High School at no charge for the next two school years, while a new high school is built in west Provo.

“Through these many decades, Provo High School has been a good neighbor to BYU,” says BYU president Kevin J Worthen (BA ’79, JD ’82). “We wish the students, faculty, and administration well as they carry on the traditions and achievements of Provo High in its new location.”
